In partnership with Liverpool Heritage Open Month, The Littoral Collective have created a unique poetry trail across Liverpool involving some of the most prominent historical buildings in the city. The trail includes site specific poetry inspired by the rich history of each host venue and is a self guided tour to be taken at your leisure. We encourage you to embark on this interesting journey where you will experience the heritage of Liverpool in a new way.
Venues involved : The Cunard Building, Croxteth Hall and Country Park, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, The Mersey Planet Light Vessel, Martins Bank, Lutyens Crypt at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, St Brides Church, St Lukes ‘Bombed Out’ Church, Sudley House, Liverpool Town Hall, Unity theatre, Victoria Gallery and Museum and the Walker Art Gallery. Please look for Heritage Poetry trail signs and see venues for directions to each.
The Littoral Collective are a group of Merseyside-based writers whose aim is to awaken Liverpool’s next generation of poets. Reacting to the city’s ever changing face they hope to create new platforms to experience the written word, build on Liverpool’s rich literary history and contribute to new, creative ways of viewing the city.
